South Korean label Post Archive Faction seemed to have exploded out of nowhere. Designer Dongjoon Lim takes pride in subverting expectations and reimagine staples in creative yet wearable ways. The ethos behind the brand is tech wear focused, but seeks to use this principal to transform everyday garments into something functional yet otherworldly. They split the brand into three lines “LEFT, CENTRE, RIGHT”, ranging from the most out there on the LEFT side to the most wearable, RIGHT. This jacket, from the RIGHT twists what is normal into something novel, something strange, yet, something functional. Riffing on the classic four pocket work pant, a la Dickies, Ben Davis, etc., PAF have constructed this work pant out of a crisp and durable primarily polyester blend, which adds to a more technical appearance. DWR (durable water repellent) finishing is applied afterwards to increase weather resistance without compromising the otherwise breathable nature of the material. The point of difference, X-shape darted stretchy nylon/spandex panelling on the posterior not only looks cool, but provides increased mobility. The piping flanking these panels also twists towards the hem, with a slight taper, for a more modern fit.
