Amazing older skirt from Comme des Garcons mainline. Rei Kawakubo's Autumn/Winter 2001 collection was a departure from what one would normally consider par for the course. Instead of luxury materials like leather and fur, tacky and usually gauche fabrics like PVC and faux PU leather form the sex themed collection, an extension of SS01's exploration into the taboo. This faux leather (polyurethane) skirt has lasted surprisingly well, at 22 years of age, with it's timeless appeal. Asymmetrical wrap style, which naturally fits many bodies and sizes. Floral trim at the hem pays homage to cheap and tacky lingerie. Due to the fabrication, the "leather" has been tacky over time, and has worn away at some parts which are visible when worn, hence the price.
