Likely inspired by Margiela's FW94 collection "A Doll's Wardrobe", Jun Takahashi's AW03 showing "Paper Doll" is one of his most notable. Expanding on the idea of a doll's dress, Takahashi injected his own grungey and chaotic aesthetic into the concept and crafted a somewhat dystopian reinterpretation of traditional dress. The men's collection focused further on deconstruction and subsequent reconstruction, continuing to wear his punk influences on his sleeves. Such an example of this can be seen here in this coat - fit with multiple panels, that intersect with raw edges, and further raw edges at the collar, and hems too. A mid-length fit, and heavy cotton construction allow for multi-season wear.
