Raf Simons obsession with subverting men's knitwear only really exploded recently, beginning with his landmark I <3 NY sweater for Fall Winter 2017, which featured a very exaggerated wide cropped body with dolman billowy sleeves. For each subsequent collection, Raf strayed further and further from the norm, culminating in this pullover from SS19. Like many of his other knits, this one features a large wide body, with a singular baggy arm. Patchwork raw seam finishing on 1/3 of the sweater accentuates the contrasting glitter thread which dangles down, a nod to traditional chain stitch detailing on shirting. The material is a blend including mohair and wool, with a knitted stripe pattern with a highlighted contrast metallic/glitter thread.
