A landmark collaboration between Kiko Kostadinov's womenswear line directed by Australian twins Laura and Deanna Fanning, and Japanese streetwear institution Hysteric Glamour. The collection has a heavy focus on the strengths of both, the Fanning's with their rambunctious interpretation of Y2K trends, fusing with Hysteric Glamour's instantly recognisable graphics, and Kiko Kostadinov's creative direction that involves impeccable tailoring that requires the utmost mastery of the human form. In line with HG's gyaru and decora kei (subsets of street style popular in the 90s and 00s) heritage, the campaign shot by Rosie Marks featured supermodel Kiko Mizuhara dressed in bright neons, juxtaposed against the Tokyo cityscape. These campaign images, as well as the clothes themselves, are direct references to images drawn from the HG archives which founder Nobuhiko Kitamura used to form collections in the brands earlier days. The Kiko collections have strayed away from graphics which were more commonplace in earlier collections, and it seems now to be reserved for special collaborations like this where it is featured front and centre.
This is not your typical long tee. Multiple layers of super soft brushed cotton are stacked, wrapped, and layered. Multiple multi-coloured prints referencing some of Hysteric Glamour's most iconic logos such as the multiple iterations of the HG Rock Girl, and other logo flips (such as Zildjan and Metallica rips) are printed throughout and on multiple layers, allowing the wearer to change the sleeve configuration and body configuration to show off different graphics.
